WASHINGTON (AP) -- Retail sales disappointed in July and the number of newly laid-off Americans filing claims for unemployment benefits rose unexpectedly last week. The latest government reports reinforced concerns about how quickly consumers will be able to contribute to a broad economic recovery.

"There is really no positive spin to put on these numbers," Jennifer Lee, an economist with BMO Capital Markets, wrote in a research note. "The U.S. consumer remains very weak. The jobs situation, while slowly improving, is still dismal."

The jobs situation, while slowly improving, is still dismal.

Did Dubya ever see slow improvements the last several months of his administration?

Just checking.

That didn't take long - less than three minutes - to get Bush into the fray.

Look forward young man.

I believe your boy Obama said something similar.

The state of our nation (fucked up) is all on him now....

The Obama sheep will blame everything on Bush, The Bush sheep will claim it's all Obama's fault. Meanwhile both parties keep robbing us blind and selling us off to the highest bidder. Stay loyal to your party, stay divided, it is the way the politicians want us.

Well.. Bush brought us into this dumbass.

Obama brought us into 6 Trillion Dollars of debt since inauguration and 3 million people are out of work following his annointment, dumbfuck.

Shall we blame the remainder of his Presidential fuck-ups on Bush well into 2010 and beyond, or is there a certain day when he "takes over" and takes responsibility for his fuck-ups?

Hmmmm......that's gotta be the smartest comment I've seen in awhile. A divided pen of sheeple are much easier to control. If said sheeple ban together into one large lump, then look out, as they could end up trampling on every ass wipe caught in their path. Once their eyes and minds are opened, sheeple could cause a lot of bullpucky to rain down on our illustrous powers that be. :D

Maybe one day we'll actually see sheeple from both sides of the pen, banning together as one, and getting something done to cleanup this horrific mess we find our country in. Well, now, there's the hope. Now we're just waitin' for a good change to appear in our midst.
