I was channel surfing and came across Fox News for something that made me laugh out loud (Yes, that happens a lot while watching the show). They were saying that the liberal left media was blowing the high gas prices out of proportion just for ratings. That gas prices really haven't gone up much in 30 years compared to milk. It's the democrats regulations of refineries that's at the root of the problem. Not Condi's white papers for BP that cutting production would raise profits. Not that gas prices have more then doubled since the Reps took control of the White House and Congress.

Nope, it's the liberal left media and the democrats fault. All of it.

I believe them.

Darn those democrats!

If only they would embrace the advantages of deregulation.

I don't know about liberal media, but sensational media is at fault here. Not as in the higher costs, but in inciting outrage.

The oil companies, like all big business, love regulation. Regulation decreases competition and creates oligopolies like we have with big oil, which increases their power. Most of the regulation bills are written by big corporations.

Well, it's nonsense to blame the media for it.

What does slightly bother me is the fact that gas usage has actually gone up from last year (2.3%)...now, we've been hearing about gas prices non-stop for awhile now. You'd think more people would start getting fuel efficient cars, using mass transit, riding their bike, walking, carpooling, etc, etc, etc. Yet, Americans, hear us roar, keep using more, and more.

Americans are trained to believe government is the solution for every problem. The days of making sacrifices (WWII rationing) are long gone.

I gather all of the deregulation bills are as well.

Probably. Politicians are in debt to big business.
