In todays world I would think it would be very difficult for one to get into a good relationship and sustain it. Too many women are clingers and/or gold diggers. Too many men just want sex, and run at the thought of getting hitched. And with promiscus people all over the place, it's a risk just to even be with one of them. And the women get more self indulgent as time goes on. And, in my opinion, it all makes for a world populated with millions of lonely people walking the planet.

Damn Bink. Quite the insightful analysis.

Money can distract one from loneliness.

Sex as sport without love IS self indulgent.

Marriage can be both intimate AND abhorrent.

So the quandary remains.

Marry a rich woman or a poor woman.

Well, I can be deep on occasion and full of insight. I'm not always a big goofus.

Anyway, I guess one just has to connect with someone first to date them and then take it from there. And if it got to the point of wanting to marry, I guess the best bet would be to go with the heart and listen to what your gut instincts are saying as well.

he was explaining a new trend, where if you order online via Goggle(or other subscriber) ad, and provide your phone number, when you leave that site - the info is elecronically transfered to outbound operatorsfor an instant callback ( within 10 seconds ), who will ask you
(for ex). " i see you booked a trip to Disneyworld - would you like to be comped a free room?"
So your phone will ring.

Then they'll try to sell you on taking a timeshare pitch, when you get the room ( part of the deal)

You are dancing around the issue like a politician.

Connecting is fine but it does not pay the bills.

Marriage is hard for anybody regardless of station.

So the question remains: marry a rich person or a poor person: which is better?

I wasn't dancing around the issue. Actually, I really hadn't thought about it. But why focus on either one? why not let nature take its course? I don't think we can say which one is better than the other. What works for one, may not for the other. And circumstances have to be taken into consideration as well. As far as I'm concerned I don't think finances, (rich or poor) would even factor into it. I believe it's animal attraction. Love holds no boundries. We fall in love with whomever our mind wants to. The attraction and feelings involved outweigh the fact of whether or not one is rich or poor. Now if one just wants to marry someone who is rich, then they will not find love with that person. It would be a marriage of convenience and comfortability. And it would not be a happy marriage. When one marries a poor person, most of the time it is for love. Unless, of course, the lady involved has gotten pregnant, and even then, in todays world, most don't even marry then. Money does not guarantee happiness. But then, you were'nt considering anything but the fact of being either rich or poor. That is two dimentional.

Environment Man

I wasn't dancing around the issue. Actually, I really hadn't thought about it. But why focus on either one? why not let nature take its course?

So one's future path should be based on emotions instead of reason?

I don't think we can say which one is better than the other. What works for one, may not for the other. And circumstances have to be taken into consideration as well. As far as I'm concerned I don't think finances, (rich or poor) would even factor into it. I believe it's animal attraction.

What happens when the 'animal attraction' subsides and routine sets in?

50% of ALL marriages fail. Another 25% are probably miserable in their marriages.

Another 20 percent are probably so-so. And maybe 5% are happy.

With those stats it would seem that a calculated marriage to a rich person would make more sense.

Love holds no boundries. We fall in love with whomever our mind wants to. The attraction and feelings involved outweigh the fact of whether or not one is rich or poor.

But one can fall in love with a rich person as easily as with a poor person. Of course the decision is probably more from the more powerful monetary partner.

Now if one just wants to marry someone who is rich, then they will not find love with that person. It would be a marriage of convenience and comfortability.

Yes, but one could take the yacht out to make oneself feel better.

When one marries a poor person, most of the time it is for love. Unless, of course, the lady involved has gotten pregnant, and even then, in todays world, most don't even marry then.

Sex between the poor is probably hotter than sex between the rich.

Maybe the rich person marries the poor person for some passion.

Maybe the poor person marries the rich person for some resources.

I think you are way over analyzing this. If you feel so inclined, then start dating women with money. If you married one, I'm sure you would find it to be cold and unfeeling at some point. Sure.......you could take out the yacht and make your ego feel better. But it won't make you feel warm and fuzzy at night and make love to you. I think marrying a poor woman is mainly because one has fallen in love with her. Why else would anyone marry a poor woman? Because she can do his laundry? She can cook his meals? If that were the case, then I guess marrying a rich one would be better, then you'd have servants to do that.

I think, if it's meant to be, it will happen. And it would hit you when you least expect it. But then, if you're not concerned about falling in love, then I guess you may as well focus on finding a rich woman.....and save yourself the quandry your mind could be in.....

I'm not so concerned about being under Chinese hegemony ( inevitable), as the cultural devestation byt he Hanization ( movement of Hans to China along with their repressive gov't)
and the McDonaldization ( homoniginization of their culture).

Tibet is a unique place, their culture and their religion is the home of Tibetian Buddism ( largest sect worldwide).

Haven't wanted to get high since I quit cigs ( the Fireproof cigs are sickening) for cigars.

Al Capone Cigarillos

Named after the famous Italian American gangster, Al Capone Cigarillos are machine-made in Germany by the Dannemann Company. Geraldo Dannemann began the company in 1873 in the small town of Sao Felix, Brazil. The town of Sao Felix honored Dannemann by making him their mayor. After 135 years, the Dannemann Company has expanded their operation from Europe, to Central America, all the way to Africa. Al Capone Cigarillos are widely hailed as the Dannemann’s flag ship brand in the United States.
Al Capone Cigarillos are made up of a combination of Nicaraguan and Brazilian tobacco leaves. Utilizing a unique Bahia wrapper as well a conglomeration of vintage fillers from the Condega, Jalapa and Esteli regions of Nicaragua.
Al Capone was infamous for his bootlegging of liquor during the Prohibition Era. It’s no coincidence that Al Capone Cigarillos all come in either Rum or Cognac

My guess is that gas would be about $1-$2 a gallon.

Cause the process also produces hydrogen for sale. Oxygen too.

Plus the Defense Department does not look for profit.

They would help with the construction budgets.

It could utilize ALL of the CO2 from coal plants. I think that is a great environmental impact.

All of the harmful elements in the fly ash are bound up in the concrete and turned into a beneficial use: bridges, highways etc.

Not as a fuel.

As a replacment for cement in making concrete.

IF you want to be technical no, kilns put under fuels even thought it is an alternative raw material(ARM). They consider fuel as it goes in to the kiln and can add strengh to the cement but it will carry some heat value as well. It is an ARM in cement.

([edit] Portland cement
Owing to its pozzolanic properties, fly ash is used as a replacement for some of the Portland cement content of concrete.[13] The use of fly ash as a pozzolanic ingredient was recognized as early as 1914, although the earliest noteworthy study of its use was in 1937.[14] Before its use was lost to the Dark Ages, Roman structures such as aqueducts or the Pantheon in Rome used volcanic ash (which possesses similar properties to fly ash) as pozzolan in their concrete.[15] As pozzolan greatly improves the strength and durability of concrete, the use of ash is a key factor in their preservation.

Use of fly ash as a partial replacement for Portland cement is generally limited to Class F fly ashes. It can replace up to 30% by mass of Portland cement, and can add to the concrete’s final strength and increase its chemical resistance and durability. Recently concrete mix design for partial cement replacement with High Volume Fly Ash (50 % cement replacement) has been developed. For Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC)[used in dam construction] replacement values of 70% have been achieved with POZZOCRETE (processed fly ash) at the Ghatghar Dam project in Maharashtra, India. Due to the spherical shape of fly ash particles, it can also increase workability of cement while reducing water demand.[16] The replacement of Portland cement with fly ash is considered by its promoters to reduce the greenhouse gas "footprint" of concrete, as the production of one ton of Portland cement produces approximately one ton of CO2 as compared to zero CO2 being produced using existing fly ash. New fly ash production, i.e., the burning of coal, produces approximately twenty to thirty tons of CO2 per ton of fly ash. Since the worldwide production of Portland cement is expected to reach nearly 2 billion tons by 2010, replacement of any large portion of this cement by fly ash could significantly reduce carbon emissions associated with construction, as long as the comparison takes the production of fly ash as a given.)

Bill,

All of the raw ingredients used to make cement determine the quality of the concrete you see in highways, oil well clinker, bridge clinker, and building cement. Your quality of calcium, silica, gypsum, iron slag and ash can determine it strength. Also, maintaining a constant supply of LHV can go a long way for ensuring the strength and quality.

Believe it or not Bill, it takes specific chemistry make up for cement production. Some ash can be too high in akalis or to low in akalis, some can contribute other increases in sulfur and/or mercury content. All of these things must be considered. Not all ashes will work in all cement kilns.
