Other than a headache I've had for three days, I'm just fine and dandy. Went to bed around one am, and just got back up again..... Headache is gone for the time being.....Yea.......
Been shoveling snow. I live on a little dirt road that runs off a main highway. The county doesn't plow it, and I got stuck two days ago pulling out onto the highway. Had to get out and shovel my way clear. No biggie. Been there. Done that..... And hauling in about three or four armloads of wood is an everyday thing all winter. Temps haven't been bad either, except for a day or two of cold wind.... Still.......I long for spring.......
Do you buy the wood or get it nearby.
Hauling that wood is good exercise.
Global warming has its benefits. Mild winters is one of them.

I've already answered that. I said I had a huge fireplace with a wood insert....
Price depends on who is selling. Usually around $50 a cord unstacked. When they stack it it's an additional $5 per cord.... Most of the time I stack it myself. I usually get around 5 or 6 cord, maybe more, depending on how much is left from previous year....... I've been stacking, carrying and building my own fires since forever. Damn, I'm good......:lmao2: :lmao2:

Yes. Unless you buy CO2 offsets.
CARB also has a state program that you are subject to.
Get with it man.
Now Eman just happens to have access to some carbon offsets for you.

and they are all in Copenhagen, our illustrious POTUS will be burning that awful CO2 to go there too.
I did see one thing I liked there. a $1 mill pledge/offset/whatever to pay to STOP the deforestation of the Amazon.
If we want a healthy planet the key is to stop pollution and deforestation.
all the CO2 reductions don't mean a thing without the natural "lungs" (forests) of the planet.

One million dollars ain't gonna stop shit. They make more than that every day by cutting down the hardwood. The whole midwest used to be forest a hundred years ago, now it's farms, that didn't hurt anything, we're still all here and the planet did fine.

We're in the south down here in DC. We get an inch of snow and we lose our minds.
Close schools, courts and everything else.
2 feet and we are ready to declare a national emergency.

I remember hearing all about that plane crash on the news and in the papers. Didn't hear about the other tho'.... Things happen in life rather quickly at times.....
I was on Capitol Hill during 911 too. Outside the House chamber waiting to go in for a vote we were pushing.
Then the Capitol Hill Police started pointing towards the smoke coming from the Pentagon. I bolted for home and actually drove through the smoke that had drifted over the Potomac River to the Maryland side.

I was just afraid for my son. He was in elementary schooly then and I knew we were under attack.

I wonder to this day if that plane that crashed in Penn had hit the Dome if I would have been killed if I was in the House gallery.

It flies by faster as we get older because we are paying more attention to it. When we're younger, we don't think about such things, therefore don't realize that our youth is a memory of our former past....They don't think in terms as that since they are still young...

I saw a similar situation on the Potomac River. Canoeing.
A father and son got sideways and hit a tree. The others of us had to get out and help them.
That is when I truly realized the power of a river. When I stuck my leg out of the canoe, it felt like the heat was immediately and completely sucked out of my leg.
And the power of the river was awesome.
We got them out but lost the canoe. Could not dislodge it from the power of the river as it was wrapped around the little tree.

Actually, I grew up in the city and lived in it for years until we moved to mid Michigan. I live two miles from town and across the highway is nothing but good old Michigan woods... Stepping out my door I can go for walks on trails throughout the surrounding woods.... There's a huge pond (swimmin' hole) in one direction, a mile and half away and in the other direction, two miles away, is the largest inland lake in Michigan... And then 10 miles further there is yet another large lake....So I am not lacking for swimmin' areas.....

Well, I live in a city that's trying to be a big city but with a small town feel.
Mine is a resort town that has approx. 30,000 people residing here during the summer months and then it drops to about 20,000...... The trouble with my town is that there is no central focal point as downtown area...The jackasses, decades ago, just started putting a business here or there and didn't have a plan, so to speak, of making a centralized area....Duh....They had no vision or common sense.... So we're sprawled out for about 15 miles in length, with no center of town area.....No business area.... Just businesses thrown up where ever they felt was a good spot to pitch one...Duh.....Idiots! AND, on top of that, they did not have the foresight to build a very nice sized public park on a beach...Instead, they made a couple of little ones...Another duh.....We're in the middle of two huge lakes for Gods sake and those long ago idiots didn't take that into consideration.....Stupid fucks.....
