Are any of you familiar with mosquito ringtones? They are the high-pitched ring tones that only teens can hear. Adults lose the high end of their hearing range first, so teens sometimes use these ring tones so that their cell phones can ring and their parents/teachers can't hear the phone ring.

I am old and can only hear in one ear yet I could hear all the tones...... Urban Legend? Trick on the youngsters? :D

I was the only one who used to take ear plugs to rock shows when i was a kid.

Sometimes it got too loud even for me. plug'em in.

Now I'm glad i did, my hearing is still superior to most of my friends who used to get up next to the speaker stacks.

I think I saw Deep Purple between Live in Japan, and Machine Head.

Indoors. I plugged in, and it was STILL too loud. lol

The following is a link to plot a graph of your hearing. I use this along with my signal generator to determine how 'flat' my reponse is. I have always had hyper sensitive hearing. At 46 I am still good out to 17 KHz!

(use the best headphones available for the most accurate results)
