Oddly it is something that has always peeked my interest as it seems to be the only book that hasnt had charges brought against it for indecency for the beastiality and Incest as well as rape it portrays

The bible has many instances of rape, murder, etc, etc, and they're probably right putting some regulations on it. I've often read the bible and wondered exactly how this was a moral compass when parts of it would be considered heinous crimes by today's standards.

It was a time without much policing, and no means to communicate other than traveling there and bitching...mostly the law was that of the bible and those who felt they could get away with it broke the law...only worrying about the brothers for retribution...a clan thing.

It was the way the world functioned in those days...I don't think it was such a problem at the time as we would consider it today.

As far as the bible goes, I think it shouldn't be judged by the same rules as contemporary efforts as I believe it would only damage it's standing.

Although I don't think it should be used as some last word, I do think it should be open for all to read who wishes to read it, as it still has the reality of the species, and for that, it has value.

To bring it into question would be to restrict its availablity beginning at a predescribed age...which will trigger a new strictured printing of the bible for younger years...meaning it would be culled and possibly rewritten for the underage groups...something that should never be done.
