Here is the game

What would have happened if Obama was president when 9/11 happened.

Imagine Obama was President on that day.

Please do not post what he would not have done but rather what he would have done.

Please no posts about Bush. In this scenario, Bush does not exist.

He would have first had his speech writers prepare a teleprompted speech.

In his speech he would have declared the US and it's people brought this on themselves and should have seen it coming.

His response to this attack would have been a full apology to all Muslims everywhere and an offer of money as an apology.

Security in airports would have remained the same and there would have been attacks still going on today on US soil.

He would have gotten in his AerOLplan & hid out while the country braced for some of the same shit they been passing out for years...........

He would consider giving up golf as repentance for all his sins.......

He would attempt, slowly to go after the guy he believes did this... & attack a nation that has not attacked us- for not turning over a man w/out charges nor in their position.........:thumbsup:

Unable to find the guy he replaces him w/ another bad guy. They are interchangeable anyways........

W/ gawd on his side he takes 60 days & invades another nation that did not attack us or play any part in the attack............

When he finally leaves office we will all share a sigh of relief that he is gone that he did not get more opportunity to bring on the Armageddon he believed he was participating in.......

i give Obama credit for recognizing Pakistan as the real threat.
Hard to say if he would have gone in and gotten ladin, but this is about the only issue of his I align myself with.
I would hope two subs would be in the indian ocean and the air force would bomb terror camps to rubble and marines would mop up.
Everyone would be home and iraq would never have happened.

Had the attack occurred though, Obama would have done the same that he has done with every other problem facing him so far. He would have first gathered the most knowledgeable people and gotten input from all parties and formulated a plan of action. I imagine he would have then called a joint session of Congress and explained to them and the American people the problem and offered a solution to the problem. I also imagine that Obama, being the Constitutional scholar that his is, would have asked for a Declaration of War against the Taliban and al queada and then launched an attack against them in Afghanistan. He would have also have told Congress that the war would be costly and that any proposed tax cuts would have to be shelved. He would visit ground zero where he certainly would have made an eloquent speech and asked for the support of the American people in a trying time.

That is what I believe Obama would have done.

Can I ask how a country would declare war on individuals? I was under the impression that a declaration of war would be against another country. I am not sure if that is specified inthe constitution.

Let me clarify. I imagine that the declaration of war would be against Afghanistan. The reasoning behind it would be, in my opinion, that the Taliban, who was the leadership of the country, openly allowed the training and actions of the group that launched an attack on this country. Of course everything any of us say here is nothing but opinion and speculation.

Unfortunatly my friend he was elected by the opposite side but that side aint so opposite if you catch my drift....

Things may have come about differently but the results, @ least in Afghanistan would likely be about the same.......... Obama is not a leftest in any stretch, he is a centrist......

I could speculate that Obama would not have gone into IraQ......... Again that would be just speculation as many of the forces (Military indus complex) would still be advocating this action- applying pressure on Obama as they did bush..

Bush's bad war is now Obama's good war.......... Hardly any of the dems bitching about it now......

IMO to state Obama would not have invaded central asia would be disingenuous given the fact that not only is he caring on the bush policy he is in fact enhancing it, embracing it..........

I am with Cosby in that regardless of who was in office, the events that led to - and followed 9/11 would be quite similar.

I however, choose to take a more suspicous look at these envents. Most humans neither possess the memory, or the desire for the intense level of independent thought and research that is required - to uncover the many flaws in the 9/11 commision's findings. You all just focus on the present and believe what 'they' tell you... It is obviously much less painfull that way, and it is what the government needs from you - for them to move forward with their hidden agendas.

Also IMO, this forum needs stop focusing all your bitching on the presidents. They are merely sideshow diversions with all the media glitter, who are placed there to divert your attention - while the military industrial complex robs you blind.:disbelief:

I believe Obama would use 911 to go even further than Bush did, in terms of domestic intelligence and clamping down on our rights. And we'd let him, because it was Obama doing it.

But this whole scenario is a bit hard to figure - since Obama got elected because of hatred of the Republicans and Bush. We came out of eight years of Democrats running things. So the mood of the country would be much different.

Everything would be different, internationally, so it's hard to know what Obama would do. No Iranian nuke program, No Lebanon war or Gaza invasion, No Russian war with Georgia, etc.
