My knee jerk reaction to the video runs something like...a few of the security guards would be spitting teeth if they did that to me. Thankfully, knee jerk reactions are just that and hopefully in a situation like that cooler heads prevail.

Looking at it, I'd have a few questions to ask about it all, like what were the rules regarding video taping the event? Is it on public property? Why didn't the police do something or did they respond properly because they saw the incendiary nature of the situation? They also had mentioned that there were Christian groups around there as well "preaching" and how did they conduct themselves? Did their conduct make it easier to go off on these people?

On face value the video pissed me off, but I think fair minded people need the full story to judge. Either way, I don't get religious loons one way or another...if your faith is so great you should be able to discuss it without anger.

This reminds me of when I was at the Lebanese Food Festival in Birmingham, Alabama passing out voter registration forms. Even though I was working directly for the Obama campaign in Birmingham, I was not representing any candidate or political party this particular night. After I paid for and ate my food (very delicious) I started going around and getting people to fill out voter registration forms (Again, I was not campaigning, just providing anyone that wanted the opportunity to register).

I was approached by the head of security of this event, some mid-50's Arab man, and he told me I was soliciting and asked me to leave. I told him what my exact intentions were, but he was adamant on getting me to leave the property.

He then notified an off-duty police officer, who happened to be of Arab descent as well, who escorted me off of the church property. I was then on the sidewalk, off church property and continued to approach people to get them registered.

The cop then approached me with two uniformed police officers on either side and told me I had to leave the area immediately. After about five minutes of arguing, me telling him I was on public property, I was put into handcuffs and THROWN onto the trunk of a parked car.

After a search of my pockets, they pulled out my wallet and there on the top was my military ID. Somehow this took their heads out of their ass and they let me go with the promise of leaving the immediate area.

I filed a complaint with the department but never heard anything back from them.

In response to the video, just like my experience in Birmingham, their actions were 100% unjustified and proper actions should be taken to ensure that never happens again.
Nobody knows exactly what the contents of the pamphlet were though, and to assume anything about the contents would be mere speculation. But I recognize there are some bad apples in every bunch, and for them to act in such a way does nothing but reinforces the stereotype placed on the Arab race.

We have no idea what was presented in the other dozens of booths, so I hope nobody goes off painting with broad-stroked brushes.
